Hello! Thanks for stopping by my little literary nook of the internet. It means a lot, so I’m going to kick off this About Me with some honesty:
I’ve never been a huge reader.
I read but I don’t inhale books. Does that make me a strange/bad/illegitimate writer? I’ve always blamed this on my picky taste in books. I like weird stuff that doesn’t really exist. So I’ll read half of a book that barely skims on the subject I want, and get fed-up. Eventually I’ll start writing what I want to read and, bam, you have your writer who needs to read more. Or just a finish a single book.
I got my BA in English – Creative Writing at Louisiana State University, and all of my professors and classmates insisted that reading is vital for writers. Thus, this blog is meant to help broaden my horizons and encourage me to read. I’ll read like a writer, like a critic, like a lunatic who can’t put a book down because she just loves words too much. The Writer Who Reads is meant to enrich me but, I hope, in some way, it will help you too.
Here’s my current reading list. I am always open to suggestions. If you have a book that you think I should read, tell me! You can find me on socials: twitter, instagram, spotify, pinterest, and goodreads.
